The Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) took home the Outstanding Communication/Advertising Award from the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) at the annual NASC Sports Events Symposium on April 15.
The award-winning piece was the four-page, gatefold ad campaign the Round Rock CVB produced for Sports Events Magazine, Sports Destination Management Magazine and Sports Travel Magazine. The series of ads, designed by Austin-based Arsenal Brand, are the first of its kind for sports magazines and sports destination marketing.
The Outstanding Communication/Advertising Award is given for any type of communication piece and submissions must demonstrate efforts to market the community as a sports destination; be used to solicit corporate sponsorship or membership; or inform others about the organization. More than 370 cities and convention and visitors bureaus were eligible for the award.
Round Rock and its Sports Capital of Texas campaign, has been widely recognized as a leader in tourism sports marketing, winning awards from organizations including the Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus and the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers.
