Just 15 miles north of the state capitol in Austin, Round Rock is one of the nation’s fastest-growing and economically vibrant cities.
Even though we're The Sports Capital of Texas, there's still plenty of entertainment in town that doesn't involve a ball, a stadium or a scoreboard. Check out these attractions when you're off the field.
From business meetings to basketball tournaments, and everything in between, Round Rock has you covered. Our flexible facilities and high-end amenities will make your next event a sure success.
Relax at one of the many hotels in Round Rock. Whether you're looking for business facilities, comfortable amenities or just a firm bed to rest after the big game, there is an option for you.
You brought your cleats. You brought your jersey. Did you bring your appetite? Enjoy burgers, sandwiches, barbeque, steaks, pasta, seafood and more at one of our restaurants.
When Capital Confectioners says this show “takes the cake,” they mean it! You don’t want to miss this fantastic annual event that bring bakers and sugar artists from across the globe to the Round Rock Sports Center to showcase their edible artwork. Here are our top reasons you should save the cake -we mean date- for February 23-24, 2019. Imagine your favorite bakery meets Willy Wonka meets a sculpture exhibit… that’s the That Takes the Cake Sugar Art Show & Cake Competition!
Take a stroll through the gorgeous cake displays, geek out on decorating trends, and admire the different styles and techniques used by the artists. If you’re in a do-it-yourself mood, treat yourself to products and tools used by the entrants, available for purchase from vendors at the competition, because everyone should be able to make heart-shaped muffins!
Speaking of DIY, why not discover an entirely new skill, or improve how you prepare your favorite cake or cookie at one of the many classes offered during the competition? Learn how to work with different icing consistencies at the “Country Wedding” cookie class or join Food Network star Natalie Sideserf for the “I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas!” micro decorating class.
Make sure to take some extra time to admire the incredible cakes submitted by the younger decorators as well. You won’t believe the skills these kids bring to the competition and how much talent they display at such a young age. You can also sign up your budding food artist in classes like the “Pandamonium!” 3D panda-modeling junior class, too!
If all of the cake-exploring awakens your appetite, satisfy your sweet tooth at the Make It Sweet bake sale booth. For just a few bucks, you can indulge in some of the finest pastry creations in Central Texas. And for those of you looking for something savory, check out the Sports Capital Café at the Sports Center for nachos, wraps, coffee to compliment that croissant, and more.
CAKE. Need we say more? Prepare yourself to be wowed by the incredibly intricate and seemingly impossible artistic feats these artists create with equal amounts of sugar and talent. This year’s theme is the “Wild, Wild West,” and we can’t wait to see what imaginative concepts make their way to Round Rock in February.
