PONY Nationals swings into Round Rock! Come watch amazing athletes compete for the national title!
RRHS to host softball tourney
For the past 11 years, the Round Rock High School Booster Club has hosted an annual softball tournament to raise funds for female athletes in school activities and scholarships. The event has grown into a highly sought after preseason tournament, allowing teams to hone their skills for the upcoming season and serving as a one-stop recruiting stop for college coaches seeking new talent.
Approximately 60 high school teams, including teams from Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock and San Antonio will be competing for the championship title in Old Settlers Park Jan. 9-10.
"We are excited to be back for another successful event that showcases not only our local softball athletes but over 500 players throughout the State of Texas," said RRHS Softball Booster Club President Renay Law. Tournament Director Frosty Davis added, "With the new softball fields in Old Settlers Park, we are able to bring in additional young athletes and give them the opportunity to compete in a top-notch facility. It also allows us to show off the city of Round Rock."
