CQ Press has released City Crime Rankings 2010-2011, and Round Rock ranks ninth among U.S. cities 100,000 population or greater.
Round Rock is No. 2 among the 32 Texas cities population 100,000 or greater included in the rankings.
“For the sixth year in a row, these rankings validate what we know: Round Rock is the City of Choice for those who want to live and do business in a safe community,” Mayor Alan McGraw said. “This stellar ranking reflects Round Rock’s ongoing emphasis on public safety, as well as the dedication and professionalism of our Police Department.”

On Nov. 20-21, the Ultimate Players League of Austin will sponsor the annual incarnation of Celebracion Del Espiritu Ultimate tournament at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Participating at this year's ultimate fiesta, are 24 teams, from as close as Austin, Dallas, Houston and Louisiana and as distant as Oklahoma, New York and Mexico City, plus the return of one player from Nigeria.

At the Oct. 28 regular meeting, the Round Rock City Council showed its satisfaction with the Convention and Visitors Bureau's marketing company by renewing the service contract with Arsenal Brand for the fifth year running. The contract was approved for $156,200.
